The pilots ask for a new contract. And both sides accuse each other of stalling the negotiations. The union claims that Lufthansa failed to make a "negotiable offer".
In a statement quoted by Reuters, a company spokesman would have asked the pilots to return to the negotiating table.
The mobilization also had effects in the group's subsidiaries, Germanwings and Lufthansa Cargo. Some subsidiaries, such as Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cityline, have not suffered any hardships.
The company had already been forced to cancel hundreds of flights last week, due to a public sector strike that affected 7 German airports, as part of a dispute that had nothing to do with Lufthansa.
