Lucos and Cofely Italia sign a partnership agreement in the field of energy efficiency

Lucos Alternative Energies, a company active in energy services and controlled by Ternienergia, has signed a partnership agreement in the field of energy efficiency with Cofely Italia, belonging to the Gdf Suez group. The agreement, which will last until 31 December 2014, provides for the development of projects to be implemented in favor of private or public customers "aimed at reducing primary energy consumption such as, for example, interventions on electrical equipment, special systems and - underlines a note – interventions on the mechanical systems or on the building envelope”.

The projects will be implemented using the method of financing through third parties. Cofely and Lucos make the investment for the design and construction of the plant, "assuming its management and guaranteeing the energy savings which are shared with the customer". Another procedure adopted will be the "turnkey" one, on the basis of which the customer invests, entrusting Cofely and Lucos with the design, purchase of materials and execution of the works.

The memorandum of understanding also provides that the two companies will agree from time to time on the practical methods of implementing the projects, including the hypothesis of creating ad hoc corporate vehicles for each initiative. “With this partnership – comments Stefano Neri, president and CEO of Ternienergia – specific skills already existing in the sector of energy efficiency on an industrial scale are integrated, giving rise to a strategic alliance capable of satisfying the needs of the market. Lucos and Cofely operate in a coordinated manner, being able to freely choose the best solutions without technological constraints to achieve the 20-20-20 objectives set by the European Union in the most effective way”.
