Luci da Brera: five young artists in a poster exhibition in the viewing room

Luci da Brera: five young artists in a poster exhibition in the viewing room

During the closing period of the art galleries located in the red areas of the Italian territory, Bottegantica di Milano announces that the "Luci da Brera" exhibition will be open to visitors from 18 pm on 19 November in virtual mode for the entire period of the lockdown (until 3 December 2020). A choice made necessary by the measures contained in the new dpcm, but which aims to be a clear signal of how – despite the difficult situation – art must continue to live, move and excite.

Bottegantica has selected five promising students of the painting chair held by Ignazio Gadaleta at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts – for over two centuries the forge of extraordinary artists, such as Francesco Hayez, Giovanni Segantini, Lucio Fontana, Marino Marini, Vanessa Beecroft -, and to group them within a exhibition/manifesto in order to make them known to the general public. The five artists are Yuki Aoki (1974, Japan); Erika Bellanca (1992, Italy); Elias Bertoldo (1994, Italy); Saeed Naderi(1981, Iran) e Arjan Shehaj (1989, Albania). The works, which will exceptionally be presented in virtual form through the viewing room section enriched by interviews and in-depth content, they contemplate different forms of expression that activate the persistence of painting, as an inexhaustible and inexhaustible language. The spectator is thus placed in a position to reflect on the concept of 'continuity' of art, and to contemplate its history as it unfolds. With this exhibition, Bottegantica continues the modern and contemporary laboratory (Lab contemporary) born in 2018 with the exhibition Contemporary nineteenth century. Comparing two generations and continued with the exhibition FreshKiss. Pascale Marthine Tayou in collaboration with the Galleria Continua (April 2018). The five artists, coming from different countries of the world, will dialogue together through a universal language, dictated by the absence of words and by emotional and sensitive understanding. Light and its innumerable chromatic derivations will be at the center of this exhibition which offers a journey around the world.

"Bottegantica strongly believes in the promotion of art and new artists, and it does it even more at the moment by allowing you to visit an exhibition, which was to be open to the public, online" - he explains Enzo Savoia founder of Bottegantica. "Through this exhibition we want to give our support to culture and young artists, promoting the light of their talent globally, because it is also from art, knowledge and beauty that the rebirth of a country passes".
