Lucchini: request for extraordinary administration filed

The Lucchini steel group has filed with the Court of Livorno the request for extraordinary administration pursuant to the Marzano Law, a request that was also presented at the same time to the Ministry of Economic Development which should, at this point, appoint a commissioner who will have six months to draw up a plan.

Lucchini, which in Piombino alone has more than 2.000 employees, belongs to the Russian tycoon Alexei Mordashov and has been in crisis for some time. The path of receivership, in coordination with the ministry, was not the only possible one for the company, given that the Swiss Klesch had declared in recent weeks its interest in buying the steel group.
