Lottomatica: profits and revenues increase, amusement machines boom

As regards the Italian activities, revenues grew by 55,4%, reaching 451,9 million, compared to 290,7 million in the second quarter of last year. Income from instant lotteries increased sharply (+12,6%), lottery income (+34,4%), while income from sports bets was down.

Lottomatica closed the second quarter of 2011 with revenues of 702,6 million euros, up 22,3% compared to 574,5 million in the second quarter of 2010. Revenues from services increased by 26,3%, comparison with the same period last year, amounting to 663,7 million euro. This growth is mainly due to entertainment machines, lotto, scratch cards.

In the second quarter, Ebitda amounted to 245,4 million, up 22,7% on last year. Operating profit also increased, reaching 140 million, marking an increase of 26,9% compared to 110,4 million in the same period of 2010. Diluted earnings per share were 0,27 euro, increase if compared with the 0,21 euro of the second quarter of 2010. As regards the Italian activities, revenues grew by 55,4%, settling at 451,9 million, compared to the 290,7 million of the second quarter of the previous year year.

Income from instant lotteries increased sharply (+12,6%), Lotto income (+34,4%), while revenues from sports bets were down, reaching 207,9 million against 251,3, 2011 million in the second quarter of 134,4. Huge growth for collections (+200%) and for revenues (+4,6%) of entertainment machines; a positive trend also for premium income from the interactive segment, which recorded an increase of XNUMX%.
