The world leader in cosmetics closed last year with a growth of 4,3% compared to 2010, to 20,34 billion euros – The French group benefited in particular from demand from emerging countries, above all from Asia and Latin America, but also maintained positive results in Europe.

The French cosmetics company L'Oréal, world leader in the sector, closed 2011 with a growth of 4,3% over the previous year, to 20,34 billion euros. Net profits grew by 8,9% to 2,44 billion euros.

In 2011, the transalpine group recorded a improvement of operating margin to 16,2%, up by half a point compared to 2010.

L'Oréal benefited from demand from emerging countries, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region (13%) and Latin America (11%). In Western Europe and the United States, group revenues grew by 0,9% and 2,7% respectively.
