Awards for a total of 242 million euros at the evening auction at Sotheby's London, entirely dedicated to impressionist, modern and surrealist paintings.

In the auction they participated  collectors and dealers from 35 countries around the world a great evening dedicated to Monet and a 85.33% Sold by Lot.

  • Preparatory drawing of one of the most important works by Revival : Une baignade, Asnières, dated 1883-1884, from the National Gallery in London

 

5 works by  Claude Monet  they totaled €73.92m

  • The Grand Canal, series of 1908, in which Many celebrates Venice, reached € 31.39m
  • From the collection of  Museum of Modern Art, New York, for the first time at auction, Monet, Les Peupliers à Giverny sold for €14.31m  

 

The exquisite portrait of Matisse, Odalisque au fauteuil noir, reaches €20.99m, exceeding the maximum estimate of €12m 

  • The work portrays Princess Nézy-Hamidé Chawkat, granddaughter of the last Turkish Sultan

 

Toulouse-Lautrec's Au Lit: Le Baiser, from 1892, reaches €14.31m, the second highest figure for the artist

  • The work has never been offered at an auction and had not appeared in public for more than forty years

 

Abstract rhythm of Madame MS di Gino Severini

  •  A magnificent futurist portrait from 1915 was purchased at auction for €9.407.459m; the work was exhibited in 1961 at Palazzo Venezia, Rome; in 1978 at the National Portrait in London; in 1984 in New York at the Metropolitan and from 1993 to 2014 it was on deposit at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
