London: 14 arrests, Isis claims

The identity of the first of the seven victims, a Canadian woman, has been revealed. Scotland Yard works on several tracks. The killers have been identified, but the police are keeping their identity confidential. President Trump tough: "This bloodbath will end"

London: 14 arrests, Isis claims

On Monday morning, Scotland Yard agents raided two homes in the neighborhoods of Newham e Barking, in east London, stopping two people. Others twelve arrests had already been made on Sunday.

The police inform of know the identity of the three killers – who were killed shortly after the attacks – but did not want to make it known to avoid hindrances to the investigation.

New controversy over the British security services, after yet another terrorist attack claimed by Isis. In fact, one of the three killers would have appeared in a documentary on the Islamic state which aired live nationally on Channel 4. This was reported by the Daily Mail, which also published the man's photo.

It also seems that the police had been warned by the neighbors of the Islamic man's danger.

Meanwhile, two days after the attack, the bodies of the victims are beginning to be identified. The first is one 31 year old Canadian. The final budget is 48 injured, of which at least 21 are in critical condition.

The first declarations from the world also arrive. US President Donald Trump called the London Bridge storming “a horrific terrorist attack,” promising to “protect the United States and its allies from a vile enemy who has waged war against innocent lives."

In the meantime, the question moves to the political level: Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn openly calls for the resignation of Premier Theresa May even before the elections on Thursday 8. May - thundered Corbyn - should "resign for having presided over the cuts" imposed on the forces of police while he was Minister of the Interior”. It is an opinion – he continued – shared by "very responsible people" who are "very worried". Even security experts agree in criticizing the reduction of 20 agents in the name of the austerity carried out by conservative governments to contain public spending. In particular, the controversy has focused on the small number of armed agents on the streets compared to the needs in a moment of growing emergency after the series of attacks that hit the United Kingdom.
