An 'explosion' occurred on board a London Underground train. The number of wounded amounted to 18, many of whom suffered burns to their faces. The police declared that it was "a terrorist act". The attack, according to what was confirmed by the police, would have taken place at Parsons Green station, in the residential area of Fulham. Rescue services and firefighters are already on site. Some witnesses speak of people with "burns on the face" and excoriations. Others would have been injured in the panic of the mob.
According to UK newspapers, "containers with explosives" were seen inside the subway train. Tube service has been suspended between Earls Court and Wimbledon.
Scotland Yard has already begun investigations into the cause of the explosion, a London police spokesman said. Meanwhile, images of a still burning container on a 'Tube' train are circulating on social media. The bomb squad - reports the Daily Mail - are deactivating a second explosive device found in the Parson Green subway. The homemade bomb (the first) did not completely explode, and this - according to Scotland Yard - would explain the limited damage.
