Lombardy, Lazio and half of Italy in the red zone: here is the news

All of the North in the red zone, with the exception of Val d'Aosta, Liguria (which in any case passes orange) and Alto Adige (promoted from red to orange), a little better in the Center-South where, however, there is no longer any yellow region (it will be like this, by decree, at least until Easter), and only Sardinia remains blank. This is the result of the usual weekly monitoring by the Technical-Scientific Committee: the new colors of the Regions, which now paint over half of Italy in the red zone (10 Regions plus the autonomous province of Trento), will enter into force from Monday 15 March. The tightening was in the air and indeed in some Regions it could even have been worse according to the rumors on the eve (Puglia itself, confirmed in orange, has asked to become a red zone), but the fact is that the contagion continues to rise and that the situation, almost everywhere, is spiraling out of control.

Among the red Regions there are also Lombardy and Lazio: the first came from orange but has again the record of infections (and has decided to close everything, even the nursery schools), the second even goes directly from yellow to red, with the Rt index which has jumped to 1,3, 1. The other reds are: Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli, Trentino, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Campania, Puglia. In orange Val d'Aosta, Alto Adige, Liguria, Umbria, Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. The Rt index is now well above the alert threshold of 1,06 at the national level: it went from 1,16 to 1. In the week from 7 to 100 March, the weekly cases per 225,64 inhabitants are 194,87 against 100.000 per 22 inhabitants in the period 28-31 February. The occupation rate of intensive care units is rising, having risen above the critical threshold, i.e. to 26% against 2.756% last week: hospitalized patients have gone from 2.327 to 19.570. The number of people admitted to medical areas rose from 22.393 to XNUMX.

The new decree therefore established that until Easter, yellow no longer exists, and that the incidence is also taken into account. If they exceed 250 weekly cases per 100 inhabitants, the scenario with more restrictions is triggered, that is, the red zone and de facto lockdown. Currently the areas with the highest incidence (visible depending on the shade of red in the photo inside the article) are Emilia Romagna (434), Trentino (351), Marche (310) and Lombardy (306).
