Lombardy and Lazio, other judicial troubles

The tsunami of investigations that has overwhelmed various regions in recent months is picking up speed and once again the administrations of Lombardy and Lazio are in the crosshairs: from the arrest of Domenico Zambetti, exponent of the Pdl and commissioner of the Casa del Pirellone, to the investigation into Vincenzo Maruccio, IDV group leader.

Lombardy and Lazio, other judicial troubles

After the era of the "spread", Italians also begin to familiarize themselves with new technicalities. The most frequent in recent days is "peculation", ie the appropriation of other people's resources in the exercise of public functions. From today, however, the concept of "exchange vote", ie the purchase of preferences in elections, is also spreading. In short, today was yet another nightmare day for Italian local politics. The tsunami of investigations that has overwhelmed several regions in recent months is picking up speed and once again the administrations of Lombardy and Lazio are in the crosshairs.

The most sensational provision was certainly the arrest of Domenico Zambetti, exponent of the Pdl and commissioner of the Casa del Pirellone, accused of just swapping votes by the magistrates. According to the indictment, Zambetti paid 200 euros to some clans of the 'Ndrangheta to obtain 4.000 preferences in exchange.

The front of the investigations into the Pisana has also widened in a short time. After the scandal of the Pdl funds and the arrest of the former group leader Franco Fiorito, he was registered today Vincenzo Maruccio, IDV group leader, is also in the register of suspects. The accusation is embezzlement: the prosecutor Stefano Pesci and the deputy prosecutor Alberto Capena suspect that Maruccio has diverted 500 euros destined for the party to his personal current accounts via wire transfers. To this sum should be added another 200 thousand euros of cash withdrawals from two accounts of the Italia dei valori group.

And peculata both for the former president of the Lombardy Regional Council, Davide Boni (Lega), the former vice president Franco Nicoli Cristiani (Pdl) and the councilor and former councilor Massimo Buscemi (Pdl), investigated by the Milan prosecutor's office also for aggravated fraud. The investigation, initiated by the deputy prosecutor Alfredo Robledo, concerns travel, dinners and communication and representation expenses of the PDL-Lega council group between 2008 and 1012.

Finally, returning again to Lazio, we learn that the Councilor for Transport of the Province of Rome, Amalia Colaceci, risks ending up on trial for fraud in public supplies. Investigated together with 12 other people, Colaceci would be involved in a suspicious tender for the "Amico Bus" transport service for the disabled.
