The tsunami of investigations that has overwhelmed several regions in recent months is picking up speed and once again the administrations of Lombardy and Lazio are in the crosshairs.
The most sensational provision was certainly the arrest of Domenico Zambetti, exponent of the Pdl and commissioner of the Casa del Pirellone, accused of just swapping votes by the magistrates. According to the indictment, Zambetti paid 200 euros to some clans of the 'Ndrangheta to obtain 4.000 preferences in exchange.
The front of the investigations into the Pisana has also widened in a short time. After the scandal of the Pdl funds and the arrest of the former group leader Franco Fiorito, he was registered today Vincenzo Maruccio, IDV group leader, is also in the register of suspects. The accusation is embezzlement: the prosecutor Stefano Pesci and the deputy prosecutor Alberto Capena suspect that Maruccio has diverted 500 euros destined for the party to his personal current accounts via wire transfers.
