The Italian Eolo awarded in Europe

Eolo has been identified as one of the "1000 companies to inspire Europe", the report of the London Stock Exchange Group which selects a thousand European companies of excellence every year and which will be presented today at the European Parliament.

To be included in the publication, companies must record strong growth in revenues over the past three years, significantly outperforming peers in the same industry.

“We are proud that EOLO is one of the thousand companies chosen to “inspire Europe”. Since 1999, the year our company was founded, we have always believed in our project, which is to help Italy overcome the digital divide. Today EOLO, the main private fixed broadband wireless network in Italy, is a constantly growing reality, with entirely Italian capital, with an average age of employees just over 30 years old - says Luca Spada, CEO and founder of EOLO SpA – “we have always invested in R&D but, above all, in people: this prestigious acknowledgment testifies that we are going in the right direction” concludes the CEO.

“This research demonstrates that high-growth SMEs are the driving force behind the European economy. While the public sector and large corporations have not created jobs for many years, these companies are growing and employing at an incredible rate. And because, by definition, these companies are innovators, the jobs they create tend to be better skilled and paid, helping to give young Europeans the economic prospects they deserve – says Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group – “it is it is therefore essential to guarantee these companies access to adequate financing, to ensure that they continue to invest, grow and become the major employers of tomorrow” concludes the CEO.

The '1000 companies to inspire Europe' report received international political support with contributions from Markus Ferber MEP, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen MEP, Othmar Karas, Alain Lamassoure MEP, Paul Tang MEP and Kay Swinburne MEP.

A complete database of all companies (with downloadable pdf of the publication) and further information on the methodology can be found online at www.1000companies.com. The report is supported by AFME.
