"Ireland will exit the EU financial assistance program in December as planned and will not request a precautionary helpline." This was announced by economic affairs commissioner Olli Rehn upon joining the Eurogroup. Ireland communicated the decision this morning, explained Rehn, and "sends a very clear signal to the markets that the adjustment measures have paid off".
"Ireland's exit from the EU financial assistance program restores our economic and financial freedom," commented Irish Economy Minister Michael Noonan.
