The markets had become well accustomed with Mario Draghi: one word from him was enough and they shot up. But today this is not the case because the president of the ECB, who has to face the offensive of the German hawks, could not and cannot forge ahead on European-style quantitative easing, i.e. on the purchase of public and private securities long awaited by the markets.
That's why later Draghi's words bearish speculation prevailed on all stock exchanges: Business Square it is among the Stock Exchanges that lose the most and the decline exceeds 2,5%. Heavily targeted bank stocks, with losses between 3 and 4%. Also in sharp decline Finmeccanica.
The bearish wave has its epicenter in Piazza Affari but is involving all European price lists: London -0,2% Paris -1,1% and Frankfurt -0,6%.
