Inter can no longer win: 1-1 with Chievo

The referees' recriminations (an unjustly disallowed goal and a penalty contact between Cesar and Botta in the 94th minute) shouldn't hide Inter's performance, anything but brilliant. On the eve Mazzarri had asked for an aggressive and hungry team, the answers from him weren't at all convincing.

Inter can no longer win: 1-1 with Chievo

One more draw. Moreover conditioned by serious refereeing errors. 2014 still doesn't smile at Inter, who left San Siro with a measly little point, which is practically useless. Chievo, on the other hand, rejoices, capable of taking the lead first and putting the match to sleep until Tommasi's final whistle. Who really has nothing to boast about, given his completely insufficient arbitrage, albeit conditioned by the oversights of his collaborators. It is Giachero in particular who is most to blame: in the 14th minute the linesman, in fact, with the result of 1-1, annulled a very regular goal by Nagatomo for an alleged offside, which immediately turned out to be non-existent. However, the referees' recriminations (the other concerns a penalty contact between Cesar and Botta in the 94th minute) must not hide Inter's performance, anything but brilliant. On the eve Mazzarri had asked for an aggressive and hungry team, the answers from him weren't at all convincing.

The second half was emblematic, with the Nerazzurri unable to create goals, apart from a shot by Alvarez that was blocked without problems by Puggioni. Even on the initial approach there would be some discussion, because if it is true that Inter had started with their foot on the accelerator, it is equally true that, after just 8 minutes, they were already down by a goal. Thanks to Paloschi, author of a powerful and precise right foot, which left Handanovic and the 30 at San Siro astonished. The reaction of the landlords, however, gave hope for a different evening, and 4 minutes later the draw came.

Action born from the right, with Alvarez good at crossing an inviting ball in the center that Nagatomo pushed into the net as if he were a purebred striker. But Inter's good moment ended with the slow-motion episode mentioned above, and apart from a header from Palacio (24') it's not like chances rained down at San Siro. Chievo also found some interesting openings on the counterattack, such as in the 38th minute, when Thereau made time for Juan Jesus and came close to scoring Chievo's new advantage. The match thus ended 1-1, with the Nerazzurri furious with the referee but booed by their own fans.

“We missed the goal, I can't blame the team for anything – sighed Mazzarri after the match. – There are moments when the ball never enters, and when you score on your first shot. We must continue to work, if it is fate the lost points will be regained in the future ". Instead, there was no comment on Tommasi's mistakes, an attitude resulting from the foil made after Udine, unlike Marco Fassone. “These are serious oversights to reflect on, I hope that those responsible are doing it – the attack by the general manager. – I have not heard from the president, but the whole of society is very angry and cannot understand how these things can happen".

Meanwhile the fans are starting to get bored, to tell the truth more of the lack of results than of certain oversights. "We're not stupid, let's see who's working and who's not really doing it...come on mister" reads a banner that appeared in the Curva Nord. Company reference? In this sense there are no certainties, but the doubt remains. For his part, Thohir continues to issue at least contradictory statements. “If we have good opportunities we'll do something interesting, but the fans shouldn't expect market bombs. In any case, we must sell before making any purchases”. Nothing wrong, mind you, but a bit against the trend of what was said the day before. The Nerazzurri want clarity, on and off the pitch. Only in this way will Inter be able to return to the blazon it deserves.
