Inter are looking for a seventh victory with Pescara

On paper, the Nerazzurri have a very easy task facing Cinderella Pescara early tonight but Pioli does not want distractions.

Inter are looking for a seventh victory with Pescara

The seventh effort to have no regrets. Inter are preparing for their home match against Pescara (at 20.45 pm) with the awareness that they can't go wrong, otherwise they risk compromising their long run-up in the standings, as well as making a fool of themselves against one of the weakest teams in the league. A victory instead (possibly convincing) would give the right impetus to face a very demanding week: Lazio in the Italian Cup on Tuesday and, above all, the away match at Juventus next Sunday. In short, there are so many reasons to beat Pescara, starting with a ranking that has become increasingly interesting. Merit of Stefano Pioli, capable of transforming De Boer's disastrous Inter into a constant and effective machine, albeit still open to improvement. “Those who chase know that their destiny does not depend only on themselves – explained the Nerazzurri coach. – We also know that if we continue to win we will shorten the standings, we have to stay focused on our games and score as many points as possible. If we succeed then I'm sure we'll come back in the standings, let's not forget that we still have all the direct matches to play and that Roma and Napoli will have to come to the San Siro".

The plan is as simple as it is effective: take advantage of the "favorable" shifts to get closer and then try to overtake in face-to-face confrontations. Oddo's Pescara certainly falls into the first category but Pioli, mindful of the difficulties encountered last Sunday in Palermo, does not trust him. “Every match is important for our growth, for the table and for our ambitions. An intense, stimulating and motivating week awaits us, but first let's think about the San Siro race, already at the Barbera we understood that there are no easy situations. We know what we're facing but now we have raised our heads and we want to keep it that way for as long as possible". The coach wants maximum concentration but will still have to take into account the numerous weekly commitments and, above all, the warnings from Miranda and Kondogbia, who are rather dangerous in view of Juventus. The Nerazzurri's 4-2-3-1 formation will therefore be a little different from the one seen recently, therefore Handanovic in goal, D'Ambrosio, Medel, Murillo and Nagatomo (Ansaldi is suspended) in defence, Brozovic and Gagliardini in midfield, Candreva, Joao Mario and Perisic on the trocar behind the lone striker Icardi. Oddo, in a desperate attempt to reopen a salvation race that now seems to be sealed, will respond with a 3-5-1-1 with Bizzarri between the posts, Coda, Stendardo and Zampano in the back, Crescenzi, Verre, Bruno, Memushaj and Biraghi in median, Benali behind Bahebeck.
