Inter seek redemption against ex Mazzarri's Toro

After the "embarrassing" initial defeat against Sassuolo, Spalletti's Nerazzurri absolutely need to win at the San Siro but tough Turin is on the way, looking for the first points of the season after the bitter disappointment remedied against the Rome

Inter seek redemption against ex Mazzarri's Toro

“More than anti-Juve, I have to worry first about being anti-Roma or anti-Napoli, given the difference in mentality due to the results of previous years. It is clear that if we think only of Sassuolo, in reality, we are the anti-nobody". He doesn't send them to say, Luciano Spalletti, visibly disappointed with the flop start last week against Sassuolo. That's not going, and he knows it well ("We are a strong team that has an obligation to play in an important championship"), but he also knows that he has the team he wanted in his hands and that this year he is the first to no longer have alibi.

The Inter seen in Reggio Emilia was too bad to be true, and the final result hasn't gone down yet: “I'm sorry to embarrass the Inter world – Spalletti said in the conference -, because during the match against Sassuolo there some of the tested and certainties that we had overcome during the fight for fourth place last championship were missing. In order to work well, the new one must be based on the certainties of last season, otherwise it's complicated. In Reggio Emilia we questioned the things we had done well in the final period of last year”.

Against Turin at the San Siro (60 spectators are expected for the home debut) the Nerazzurri can't go wrong, but the match against Mazzarri will be far from simple: "It's a team that traditionally plays with a knife between its teeth - he said the coach presenting the challenge – and he will fight for every ball. We will have to be good at having a correct reaction in the context of the match and play with personality to seek victory at all costs, not giving up even a moment to try and score. When he doesn't succeed with play and quality, you have to go further”. Perhaps relying on the Icardi-Lautaro Martinez couple who disappointed in their debut, and who will seek immediate redemption in front of the people of San Siro. And Nainggolan? Overwhelmed by the controversy after the video in the disco, the new arrival has returned to work with the group and will go on the bench: “Radja is called up but we have to be careful – warned Spalletti -. We have top quality medical staff and they are evaluating the injury and preparation. There are risks, we will evaluate them in progress”.

Against Sassuolo there was also room for controversy over the Var after the match. And the coach took off a few more pebbles: "Changes have been made, the important thing is that everyone knows about them... rather, I read that I would have offended (for this reason he was warned with warning and suffered a 10 euro fine, editor's note), it's not true, perhaps here too there would have been a need for the Var. Among other things, it cost me dearly: there is an internal regulation, in addition to the fine from the sports judge, I also paid here...".

Skriniar, fully recovered, will play from the start in the central cup with De Vrij. Asamoah will return to left-back, Vrsaljko on the right, Brozovic and Vecino as a pair in front of the defence. Perisic from the first minute in the line of attacking midfielders completed by Politano and Martinez, behind Icardi.
