Inter falls with Sampdoria and De Boer is back in the balance

The Nerazzurri stumble at Marassi (1-0 for Sampdoria) and the specter of his sacking approaches again for the Dutch coach, even if the change of bench doesn't seem immediate – Di Quagliarella the winning goal for the Ligurians – Palacio's late cross

Inter falls with Sampdoria and De Boer is back in the balance

The crisis has reopened. Not even the time to close the "folder" that it is already time to take it back in hand: Inter also loses in Genoa and is forced to deal with an increasingly grim situation. The standings are crying (11th place), the points from third-placed Milan are already 8, the game continues to show obvious shortcomings in various aspects.

All charges for Frank De Boer, back in the balance despite the company's reassurances. The Dutchman, barring sensational twists and turns, doesn't risk the bench in the immediate term, however it is clear that the results are far from satisfactory and time is starting to run out.

“The situation is difficult but I am confident I can change it – his thought after the match. – Then it is clear that everything depends on the club, but I am happy to be here and I will continue to work hard. We also saw good things against Sampdoria, but unfortunately we only do them in fits and starts. We must always give 100% instead someone gave 70, we must all look in the mirror and show pride in this shirt”.

The accusation of lack of commitment is serious and shows that there are some problems between the coach and the dressing room, but a lot depends on the results: with a few more points the atmosphere would be decidedly more serene. Marassi would have needed a victory to give continuity and confidence, but Inter have to deal with the fourth defeat in their last 5 games.

This, in light of the scoring chances, is probably the most undeserved: the Nerazzurri created a lot and could have at least equalised. But when things don't work out, even the episodes end up going against the tide, and so, after having come close to taking the lead with Brozovic (the crossbar in the 39th minute and a header just wide in the 43rd minute), De Boer's team found themselves below for a nice left foot from Quagliarella (44').

In the second half there were chances on both sides, with Inter always dangerous from the waist up but equally fragile whenever they were attacked. In the final Palacio had the equalizer but sent it over the crossbar, and so it was Giampaolo's Sampdoria who celebrated. Late night for De Boer, forced to postpone for the umpteenth time the achievement of continuity.
