LinkedIn buys Lynda.com for $1,5 billion

LinkedIn has reached an agreement to purchase Lynda.com for an amount around $1,5 billion, 52% of which in cash. The social network of job profiles, therefore, expands its possibilities, buying the leading company in the supply of online content for learning and professional development.

The LinkedIn CEO is satisfied Jeff Weiner: “lynda.com's extensive video library will help people develop the skills they need to accelerate their careers. When integrated with LinkedIn's hundreds of millions of users and jobs, lynda.com will change the way people and opportunities connect."

A small revolution for the social network and for its users who, by subscribing to lynda.com, will be able to access courses taught by experts in various languages: “the mission of LinkedIn and that of Lynda.com – continued Weiner – are similar. Both companies aim to help - says LinkedIn - professionals to be better in their activities ".
