The uncertainty about the conditions of the former rais of Egypt, Mubarak

The "clinical death" of Egypt's former president, Hosni Mubarak, was announced last night. Contradictory reports have followed but the issue remains at stake.

The uncertainty about the conditions of the former rais of Egypt, Mubarak

An atmosphere of tension and disorder arose in Egypt last night when the former rais, Hosni Mubarak, was given for "clinically dead". He was transported from Tora Jail to Maadi Military Hospital after suffering a heart attack, and later a stroke. Mubarak's health conditions had worsened even earlier: in April 2011 he was hospitalized for heart problems.

The announcement of his presumed death has been contradicted by various sources. Mubarak's lawyer Fareed El Deep stressed that “he was given medicine to restore the damage of the brain stroke, and electro-shock and CPR (resuscitation) were performed to bring him back to life. He is not dead as reported”. It was also communicated by the Supreme Court of the Egyptian Military Forces that Mubarak is not dead, but that he is in "critical condition".

The former president was sentenced by the Cairo court on 2 June for allowing the killing of 846 protesters inside Tahrir Square in January 2011. Currently, doubts and suspicions have arisen about the intentions of the military forces of Egypt, which have not changed the security system in the Maadi hospital at the entrance of Mubarak, and on the motivation behind the announcement of his "clinical death". The inhabitants who occupy Tahrir Square always remain in obscurity and the whole matter has become an international mystery.
