Judicial authorities in Connecticut and New York have asked seven banks involved in the investigation into the manipulation of interbank interest rates to provide them with the documents requested for searches. The target? Look for other banks involved.

The US states of Connecticut and New York, through their District Justice Departments, called 7 banks to attend, including JP Morgan Chase and Barclays on the manipulation of Libor.

A source close to the dossier told AFP that JP Morgan Chase, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, HSBC, RBS and UBS are the seven banks called by the Justice Departments of Connecticut and New York to be heard on the scandal. For now, the authorities have asked the banks for documents, but have not yet heard from managers. The states of Connecticut and the state of New York are the only two US states that are investigating the scandal.

The request from the American judicial authorities arrived between May and August.

US authorities said they are investigating potential involvement of other banks in the scandal. In fact, complaints about alleged manipulation of interbank interest rates, such as Libor, continue to reach the authorities.
