Libya, US send two warships: "precautionary measure"

Two American warships have departed for Libya. The US decision, presented by a government source as a "precautionary measure", came after the attack on the stars and stripes consulate in Benghazi in which Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his collaborators were killed.

The military initiatives taken by Washington, Pentagon spokesman George Little said, without referring specifically to ships, are "not only logical, given the circumstances" but also "based on prudence" .
