Danilo Calonego and Bruno Cacace, the two Italian technicians kidnapped in Libya, have been released. The news, reported by some Libyan media, was confirmed to Ansa, by authoritative Italian sources and subsequently by the Farnesina. With them also released the Canadian citizen Frank Boccia, kidnapped in the same circumstance.

Bruno Cacace, 56, resident in Borgo San Dalmazzo (Cuneo), who has lived in Libya for 15 years, and Danilo Calonego, 66, from the province of Belluno, they had been kidnapped between 7 and 8 in the morning on 19 September in Ghat, in southern Libya on the border with Algeria, by armed and masked strangers. The Italian-Canadian Frank Boccia was also kidnapped with them. All three are technicians of Con.I.Cos. and at the time of the kidnapping they worked at the airport of the Libyan town.
