The announcement comes from Libyan TV: "He Colonel Gaddafi is dead". Two months after the fall of Tripoli, the troops of the Transitional National Council (NTC) also conquer Sirte, the last stronghold of Gaddafi and his hometown.

The former Green Revolution leader was caught in a hole near Sirte and there killed by a blow to the head. The news was given by Libyan television and confirmed by Abdel Majid Mlegta, one of the military leaders of the NTC. “He was hit on the head, said Mlegta, There was a lot of fire against him group of him and he died”.
