Libya: government of national unity formed, more ministers

Advice Libyan presidential election presented the new government of national unity, at the end of a long night of negotiations. The last obstacle for the newly formed government is the approval of the Tobruk parliament, little more than a formality. According to reports, during the latest negotiations the number of ministers who will form this executive has jumped from 9/10 up to thirty-two.

In any case, the news of the formation of the government of national unity has been welcomed very favorably, but also with a hint of caution, by many, and is seen as "an important leap on the path towards peace and stability in Libya". According to the Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, it is "a step forward in a still fragile situation".

A fragility evident even in the last few hours, when the agreement on training seemed in the balance, after the resignation presented by one of the two deputy premiers, Ali Gatrani. The Government of National Accord will be chaired by Prime Minister Fayez al Sarraj. His deputy will be Fathi Abdel Hafiz al-Mujbiri, Ahmad Omar Mitiiq, Mousa al-Kuni Belkani and Abdelsalam Saad Husayn Kajman.
