Libya: Focus of Sace

With the usual promptness, the Study Office of Sace has published a new Focus on the situation in Libya

It certainly cannot be said that Sace lets a lot of time pass when it comes to updating the public on country risk trends. A few hours after the dramatic killing of Gaddafi, the SACE Research Office has published a new Focus on the situation in Libya.

It is clear that, in such heat, the evolution of the country is unpredictable. In fact, Sace writes that in the medium term there are no certainties about the choices that the NTC or the future government will make regarding the legal framework of the country, the judicial system that will be adopted, the regulatory framework (including that on public procurement and import procedures), taxation and rules on expropriation and nationalisation.

Sace's document dwells in detail on the uncertainties of the institutional transition, on thethe challenges of reconstruction and on the difficult path for the complete recovery of oil and gas exports, which have already restarted but certainly not yet at full capacity, both due to the damage suffered by infrastructures and due to the uncertainty regarding the renewal of contracts stipulated before the crisis . However, as the nice title of this last chapter says, "oil must go on".

Sace's Focus can be consulted on the company's website, at the link:
