Liberalizations: first agreements on taxis, banks, insurance companies and Eni-Snam

The first agreements on the amendments to the cresci-Italy decree. In particular, the changes on which the first agreements would have been reached concern some of the most controversial liberalizations, such as that of taxis, or those that have not been achieved, such as those of the banking and insurance sector. It seems that the positions are also reconciling with regard to the separation of Eni from Snam Rete Gas.

Yesterday and today meetings were held between the two rapporteurs of the provision, Simona Vicari of the Pdl and Filippo Bubbico of the Pd. The agreement on taxis it starts from an amendment by Paolo Giaretta (Pd), which plans to return to the mayors the power to distribute licenses, instead entrusted by the decree to the new Transport Authority, which according to the latest version should only have a supervisory role. However, the Authority will be able to give indications to the Municipalities and if they do not comply, the government will be able to appoint a commissioner.

As for the banks, it is foreseen not only that the banks are obliged to offer two different life policies to customers who take out a mortgage, but also that the customers themselves can independently look for more convenient policies.
Furthermore, in the insurance chapter, agents should become multifirm, ie they should have the possibility to represent more than one company. In the end, the story of Snam and Eni. The ceiling on the participation of the second company in the distribution company should be set at 5%, according to the Community Directive.
