EU letter, Barroso irritated. And the case breaks out

Italy "decided unilaterally" to publish Jyrki Katainen's letter to Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan. This was stated by the president of the European Commission, Josè Barroso, visibly irritated by the appearance on the Treasury website of the letter requesting further information on the 2015 budget choices by tomorrow.

“It is false, surreal – added Barroso – that I am dogmatic” on the Italian case and on the choices relating to public budgets.

The letter from the current Commissioner for Economic Affairs and future EU Vice President Jyrki Katainen was published this morning, in the original language (English), on the website of the Ministry of the Economy, accompanied by a brief presentation explaining that the European Commission has asked the Italian government for additional information to clarify the reasons and assumptions.
