Letta: "The conditions are in place for a three-year stability law to reassure entrepreneurs"

A country with its accounts in order and with declining debt and deficits. This is the image of Italy that Prime Minister Enrico Letta outlined at the end of the meeting in Palazzo Chigi with the Finnish Prime Minister Jyrky Katainen. A credible country that can ask Europe for growth policies.
With regard to the stability law that the Council of Ministers will approve tomorrow, Letta explained that in line with Italy's credibility, the law will be multi-year and will intervene over three years, to give certainty to entrepreneurs and workers. “Today – she said – there are the conditions to intervene in the long term”.

Echoing the words of the head of the Italian government were the statements of the Minister of Economy, Fabrizio Saccomanni, who, in Luxembourg for the meeting of the Eurogroup, added: "There will also be a relaxation of the Stability Pact for the Municipalities , which will be able to give more resources to investments especially for projects of a hydrogeological nature, for school construction and projects that can be activated quickly. Since the goal of the stability law "is clearly to relaunch growth, reduce the tax burden on labor and businesses and boost investment".

Worried about what could happen tomorrow, in view of the announced cuts in Healthcare from 1,5 to 3 billion euros, is Beatrice Lorenzin, Minister of Health, who specified: "The National Health System (NHS) cannot bear the cuts that we read in the newspapers. Healthcare has had cuts of 22 billion in recent years. We are in a phase of major restructuring and recovery of resources from the regions. If we want to maintain certain standards, we cannot suffer other cuts”.
