Inspiration and creative genius are not inherited

The creative work is, since the beginning of time, one of the most emblematic manifestations that the human being has produced: the ancient rock paintings are the example that reveals this nature of man and the need to express and describe the surrounding world. If we look at history, the most famous painters, sculptors, writers, designers, architects, stylists have had no natural heirs to continue their work; on the other hand, we find heirs who have worked in the same sector as their parents, for example in the music and film sector. Evidence teaches us that creativity, true and authentic creativity, is not inherited from one's parents or relatives. Which brings me to a number of thoughts.

Lflair and creative genius in the highest pure state (creative innovation e avant-garde) are il gift to know how to cross over from reality and to know how to represent it in a unique and singular way.

This type of creativity generates artefacts-works (paintings, books, sculptures) which are a consequence of the gift received, but also of a history of personal events and exercises, training and attempts. It follows that creativity, in addition to being an expression of the gift, is generated by a series of personal life experiences and paths (conflicts, dissatisfactions, tensions, sufferings, sensitivities) and an existential relationship with the outside world.

This baggage and this heritage are not inheritable (i.e. transferable) as they have an exclusively personal and intangible component. The natural heir can only inherit the conservation, exploitation and tradition, but cannot continue to create and develop the original work as the original creative is missing. If we change perspective, it can be asserted that the result of creativity (the work) cannot be replicated as it belongs exclusively to the author. Therefore, it can be said that creativity, in addition to being a gift of individual genius, is the result of experiences, events and training that the artist lives during his life. The combined gift and experience therefore becomes the main source of true and authentic creativity.

"Where a work is created, where a dream is continued, a tree is planted, a child is born, there life operates and a breach has opened in the darkness of time." Hermann Hesse
