(Teleborsa) – Leonardo has signed a new contract with the Government of Pakistan which has decided to acquire additional AgustaWestland AW139 intermediate twin-engine helicopters.
The aircraft will be used in the country for tasks such as utilities, search and rescue and air ambulance, with deliveries starting from the beginning of 2018. This latest contract represents a further step forward towards the completion of the national helicopter fleet renewal plan, with orders distributed in several lots also including logistic support and training.
Leonardo explains that “this is a further important milestone for the Group with a rapid growth of the AW139 fleet in the country. Several helicopters of this model are already in service in Pakistan, many of which are used by the Government for rescue and transport tasks.
