Leonardo, as part of a temporary grouping of companies that also includes Avio Aero and Lockheed Martin, has signed a 380 million euro contract with the Italian Air Force. The agreement has a duration of 5 years and will guarantee the technical-logistic support of the C-130J operated by the Air Force stationed at the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa.

As defined by the Second Division of the Air Force Logistics Command, the activities foresee the implementation of a technical-logistics model that includes integrated logistics support (ILS), "in house" engineering support and "on site" support through operational technical representatives at the 46th Pisa Air Brigade. Aircraft and engine maintenance activities, planned and managed by the 11th Aircraft Maintenance Department of Sigonella, are foreseen at the Leonardo plants in Tessera (Venice) and Avio Aero in Brindisi as complementary support to those provided at the Pisa base, as well as repairs , spare parts, material logistics, as well as inspection activities, updating of software and technical publications.
