Leonardo and Cdp strengthen collaboration on foreign sales

Leonardo e Cassa Depositi e Prestiti have signed an agreement which consolidates "the synergies already under way" between the two companies and further strengthens "the actions of Cassa spa in support of the national aerospace champion and its supply chain". This is what we read in a press release.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Fabrizio Palermo, managing director of Cassa spa, and by Alessandro Profumo, Leonardo's number one.

In detail, the memorandum of understanding provides that Leonardo will be able to benefit from the support of Cdp in the foreign sales of goods and services through financing interventions and/or issue of guarantees and in potentials investment projects for the development of new products and technologies and for other initiatives.

Furthermore, Cdp will be able to support the development of sustainable initiatives with a high socio-economic impact by Leonardo in Developing countries.

Cdp's support to Leonardo's supply chain will be able to focus on the study and research of possible financial solutions in favor of Leonardo's strategic suppliers through forms and tools for managing working capital and medium-long term financing, as well as through the expansion of the range of services made available by Cdp.

"The agreement we signed reflects the new system approach and industrial vision adopted by CDP with the 2019-2021 Business Plan - commented Palermo – Thanks to the agreement we will in fact be able to activate important synergies to support Leonardo's investments and competitiveness abroad, also through concrete support to the Italian aerospace, defense and security supply chain".

“Today's agreement – he added Bouquet – further increases our relationship with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, extending the sphere of collaboration to strategic areas for the development of our business, also on international markets. The strengthening of synergies between two of the main players in the Italian economic system is a concrete example of the joint desire to support the growth of the country".
