Leonardo and Rome Airports have signed a partnership to facilitate the transition in smart hub of airport assets managed by ADR (a company of the Atlantia group), starting from Fiumicino and Ciampino.
On the basis of the agreement, services will be provided in the field of cyber security, in that of surveillance, monitoring, communication and decision support systems dedicated to critical infrastructures and in urban air mobility, with particular reference to the development requirements of ground infrastructures and air traffic control, a company statement said.
This agreement is part of Leonardo's technological and market development path identified in the strategic plan Be Tomorrow – Leonardo 2030.

I sectors involved: cyber security, surveillance, air mobility
Within cyber security, the agreement will make it possible to develop a managed service for the collection and processing of information and events, analyzed using Artificial Intelligence, which will exploit the Security Operation Centers (SOC) of Leonardo di Chieti, in Italy, and Bristol, in the UK, to identify specific risk profiles of the airport hub.
Services will also be implemented cyber intelligence to prevent any attacks, understanding their matrix and characteristics, and verifying the degree of security of the infrastructures.
Then taking advantage of Leonardo's Cyber Range platform, a digital twin – digital twin – of the Rome airport hub to simulate attacks and study the appropriate methods of reaction and to train the personnel of the operating structures.
About the surveillance systems, monitoring, communication and decision support, Leonardo offers ADR the X-2030 platform, for the collection, integration and valorisation of security information from diversified sources and the coordination of interventions, Global Ranger System, SCADA application for the control and remote supervision of transport infrastructures, and the Ganimede web platform, based on deep learning for the analysis of live or recorded video sources.
Finally, in the sector of air mobility urban, Leonardo and ADR will focus on the development of infrastructural and interface requirements and on the study of issues concerning both ground air traffic control and the legal and regulatory aspects of in-flight operations; in this context ADR, which is participating with Leonardo in the national table with ENAC for the national roadmap of Urban Air Mobility and Advanced Air Mobility, intends to start the first connections to Fiumicino in 2024.
