The Italian aerospace and defense multinational has been awarded a contract for the supply of four air traffic control radars to the National Instruments Import and Export Corporation (Instrimpex), a Chinese company active in the import and export of technological equipment.

The four S-band ATCR-33S NG primary radars, which will be used both in the take-off and landing phases and for extended terminal area surveillance, belong to a new generation of systems based on state-of-the-art communication, navigation and surveillance technologies of art.

It is a more robust and sophisticated version of the previous model already installed around the world, with increased transmission power in all weather conditions thanks to the gallium nitride technology. In addition to the presence in the ATC area, Leonardo has sold around 130 helicopters of various types to date in China for the performance of various tasks including passenger transport, public order, rescue, civil protection, fire prevention and environmental monitoring.

Despite the news, on Piazza Affari the share continues to fall in the wake of the negative performance of the entire list. At 15.40 the shares lost 2,25% to 10,87 euros.
