Leonardo has signed a 380 million euro contract with the Polish Defense Ministry. The order concerns the supply of multi-purpose naval helicopters which will allow the helicopter capabilities of the Polish Navy to be expanded.

In detail, through PZL-Swidnik – part of the Helicopter Division and home to its industrial presence in Poland – Leonardo will supply the country's Ministry of Defense with four AW101 helicopters and a complete package of logistic support and training services. PZL-Swidnik will act as prime contractor and will be responsible for the performance of the contract.

The agreement was signed on Friday in the presence of the Polish prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, the defense minister, Mariusz BBaszczak, and Leonardo's managing director, Alessandro Profumo, who spoke of "an important step forward in strengthening the long collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and with Polish industry” and confirmed “the commitment to further growth and new opportunities for collaboration in the country”.
