Leonardo has signed an agreement on cyber security with the NATO agency "Ncia" The agreement extends for another 18 months the IT protection services that the company led by Alessandro Profumo currently provides and which would have expired in February 2019. The contract allows therefore to maintain the continuity of the cyber security activities provided by Leonardo as part of the "NATO Security Incident Response Capability - Full Operational Capability" programme.

The collaboration between Leonardo and the Ncia agency dates back to 2012 and aims to protect the infrastructure of the NATO communication and information system from possible cyber attacks through the work of 200 digital security experts, active in 29 countries who, together with the Ncia staff, deal with detection, management and response services to computer incidents. Protection extends from networks to mobile devices, covering 75 sites, including NATO headquarters. "The service has also successfully worked for the cyber security of the NATO Summits of 2014, 2016 and 2018", says Leonardo.

Under the agreement, the company also provides support services to nations, corporations and enterprises, critical infrastructure, government and defense agencies, and financial institutions.

"Cyber ​​security - reads Leonardo's note - represents for Leonardo an important line of sustainable development in the long term, as envisaged in the 2018-2022 business plan".

In Piazza Affari, the Leonardo share gained 0,66% to 8,818 euros, replicating the performance of the Ftse Mib (+0,68%).
