Leonardo, contract with NATO worth 180 million

Leonardo has signed a new contract worth 180 million for the supply of training systems for electronic protection to NATO.

For the next four years, equipment and services will be provided by Leonardo's center of excellence in Luton, UK, dedicated to electronic warfare. The company, a note specifies, was selected in the context of an international tender and will also integrate technologies from its partners Cobham and Elettronica into the supply.

Leonardo, as reported in the official note, is the main European supplier of technology and training for electronic warfare and for this contract will provide solutions for air, land and maritime training.

The contract was awarded by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, host nation of the NATO 'Joint Electronic Warfare Core Staff' agency, which is based at the Royal Navy air base in Yeovilton in Great Britain, and is dedicated to training Armed Forces in the use of electronic warfare systems.

In the early afternoon, while Business Square travels in slight decline, the Leonardo share gains 1,71%, to 8,694 euros.
