Leonardo, Cdm gives the green light to the acquisition of Vitrociset

Leonardo has obtained the go-ahead from Palazzo Chigi to raise 100% of Vitrociset: the authorization, provided for by the law on golden power, to raise the shareholding in the tech company founded in 100 in Rome to 1992%, came from the Council of Ministers, which has already notified its decision to the interested parties. Leonardo, already owner of 1,46% of Vitrociset, last September had resolved to exercise the option right provided for by the statute to acquire the remaining 98,54% of the company, active in the fields of defence, space, transport and information technology.

To make the transition effective the authorizations of the Italian and French Antitrust will also be required, expected before the end of the year. The transaction should provide for an outlay of approximately 60 million, to which must be added gross financial debts which at the end of 2017 amounted to 62,7 million. The news allowed Leonardo's stock to rebound on the stock exchange, bringing the value of 10 euros per share closer after it had suffered sales in recent days following the incident in Leicester, which involved the president of the English football team, on board of an AW169 helicopter, produced by the former AgustaWestland. Rumors about possible cuts to the US defense budget have also weighed on the stock in recent days.
