Leonardo increases performance bonus for employees

Good news for Leonardo's workers who in January will find themselves paying 360 euros more than a one-off payment and for which important news regarding salaries are on the way.

The company led by Alessandro perfume has signed the agreement of the supplementary contract with the unions. This was announced by the secretary general of Uilm, Rocco Palombella, who explains: "The renewal of the economic part constitutes an important element and establishes the principle of redistribution to workers of a part of the income produced".

The agreement provides an increase in average wages of 850 euros on the performance bonus and another 400 euros on the collective superminimum. As said in January, "the workers will receive a one-off payment of 360 euros for the year 2019".

The agreement, explains Palombella, establishes percentage increases linked to even individual objectives for high professionalism, "de facto establishing the recognition of full contractual representation also for these figures".

“It is an important milestone that must not interrupt the negotiation phase, as they remain industrial developments still to be clarified that the Group wants to pursue and for which Uilm wants to be an interlocutor and not a mere spectator. Only through the participation of all workers – he concluded – will it be possible to achieve the results of sustainable growth, expected by the industrial plan launched by Leonardo's CEO”.

"The negotiation for the renewal of Leonardo's second-level contract has seen an important milestone reached," said Marco Bentivogli, general secretary of the Fim Cisl. “In view of the achievement of the objectives of increases in profitability and productivity, Leonardo employees will receive an increase in the performance bonus of 2021 euros when fully operational (450), bringing its value up to 6.650 euros in the helicopter division. The increases in productivity, especially in the production plants, will also be able to derive from the improvements in the production processes that will derive from the application of LPS (Leonardo production system), the work organization methodology deriving from the WCM (which was applied in FCA) which is introducing starting from the areas of production, in the whole company”, he added”.

The agreement with the unions is not the only news today on Leonardo. Indeed, the group has a role to play protagonist in the Cosmo-SkyMed and Cheops missions launched today. Both have Leonardo-branded key instruments on board.

THETo Alessandro Profumo he said he was proud “to participate with skills and technologies in the Italian Cosmo-SkyMed Second Generation programme. As already happened for the currently operational constellation, the new generation will represent the best of Earth observation capabilities at the service of Italian and European institutions and citizens for security and defense needs".

On Cheops instead "we are certain that the telescope developed by Leonardo for the mission will provide unique data and information to the international scientific community".

Leonardo is also responsible for the management of the satellite's launch and testing activities, whose headquarters are in the Leop room (Launch and early orbit phase) in the Fucino Space Center of the subsidiary Telespazio (67% Leonardo, 33% Thales).

Finally, the company makes it known that it has developed a new radar warning technology for the development of the Tempest aircraft, the new generation fighter that sees the collaboration of the United Kingdom, Italy and Sweden.
