Leonardo: "Digital Horizon" with Microsoft Italy launches for the group's digital evolution

Leonardo expands the strategic collaboration with Microsoft Italy and launches an ambitious program to support the Group's digital evolution through initiatives dedicated to innovating tools and work methods. The "Digital Horizon – A New Era of Collaboration" project, developed together with Microsoft, represents the conceptual framework for introducing the Microsoft 365 cloud productivity platform and generative AI within the company. The goal is to foster new ways of collaboration and support the progressive integration of AI into work processes, leveraging the potential of Copilot.

Digital Horizon marks a significant step in Leonardo's digitalization journey, providing approximately 50.000 people in the Group with modern work tools that are part of the Microsoft Teams platform, allowing them to collaborate in real time and work on the move in an increasingly fluid and effective way, thanks to the synchronization of documents and communications on Microsoft OneDrive and Outlook in the Microsoft cloud. Individuals and teams will also be able to access an integrated AI assistant immersed in the business context at any time and leverage Microsoft 365 Copilot to support the creation, analysis, and synthesis of content within a framework of trust and security.

The collaboration between Leonardo and Microsoft is reflected not only in the implementation of cutting-edge technology, but also in the attention paid to training. The program, in fact, supports Leonardo's people to orient themselves in the new digital ecosystem, thanks to training pills, guidelines, and support tools such as the "When to Use What" smart compass, including in-depth exploration of the most advanced prompting strategies and the introduction to AI agents. A widespread network of colleagues, the "Digital Pioneers," supports the adoption of new tools and the development of best practices to share throughout the company.

"The decision to launch Digital Horizon stems from the need to make the company's way of working more connected and integrated. New tools and Artificial Intelligence foster collaboration, information sharing, and innovation, reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks and allowing people to focus on those with greater added value," he commented. Antonio Liotti, Chief People & Organization Officer of Leonardo"Training plays a central role in this process: not only in transferring the necessary skills, but also in accompanying people through cultural change and encouraging the adoption of more collaborative, agile, and innovative ways of working."

"Microsoft Italia supports Leonardo in accelerating innovation, productivity and collaboration in daily processes, making its cloud and AI technology available, in line with the Group's high standards of security and information protection," he added. Marco Fischetto, Director of the Public Administration Division of Microsoft Italy. "But technology is only part of the innovation journey: for it to generate real value, it must be accompanied by skills development and a culture of informed adoption. We are particularly proud to expand our collaboration with Leonardo, supporting a key player in the country on a project like this. This project will have positive impacts on individuals, the organization, and the context in which it operates, and we hope it will inspire many other Italian businesses."
