Chinese hands on IBM. According to some sources, in fact, Lenovo Group would be in talks to buy the low-end server assets of the US IT giant.

Already last spring, the two companies had negotiated for the sale of part of the server business, without, however, reaching an agreement. Compared to those days, the positions of the Big Blue may have softened, due to the negative results reported in recent quarters.

The value of IBM's low-end servers is estimated to be between $2,5 and $2,9 billion. As news of the ongoing deal broke, shares of Lenovo began to rally, gaining nearly 3% on the stock exchange. The Chinese company, the world's largest personal computer maker, already acquired IBM's PC business in 2005.
