Stability Law, Padoan: "Tax wedge cut and 80 euros will be permanent"

“No shortcuts to growth. Italy in Europe and the government for the country indicate three pillars: more market opening, structural reforms, more investments for growth”. Economy Minister Piercarlo Padoan said it in Parliament, in the information on the Stability law.

The minister reiterated that the fight against unemployment must be a priority not only for the Italian semester but for the next parliamentary cycle in Europe. The slow economic recovery that is characterizing the European scenario means that "the margins for action for the Government are narrower, but this does not weaken the medium-term perspective which is essential for the leap in quality that the country needs through a decisive reform action".

Padoan also intervened on the cut of the tax wedge and the 80 euros in paychecks arrived with the Irpef decree, which "will be made permanent with the stability law". Not only that: “The repayment of public debts, currently in progress, will be further strengthened. Progress will be indicated in detail in the September Def”, he added, speaking of the results of last week's Ecofin and the timetable communicated to the EU.
