Stability Law: the cut in the tax wedge was worth 2,7 billion in 2014

The cut of the tax wedge contained in the stability Law – which today lands in the Senate – is worth 2,7 billion in 2014, 3 billion in 2015 and 3,2 billion in 2016. The reduction for companies worth 1,2 billion in 2014, 2 billion in 2015 and 2,1 in 2016. For the workers, however, the cut is 1,5 billion in 2014, 1,7 in 2015 and 1,8 in 2016.

The intervention is divided into three voices: major Irpef deductions for low and middle incomes, deductions from the taxable Irap the cost incurred for new permanent employees (for a maximum of 15 thousand euros per year for each new employee) and minor Inail prizes paid by companies (the law allocates one billion).

The maneuver also contains a incentive (the return of the additional ASPI contribution of 1,4%) for the transformation of fixed-term contracts into open-ended contracts.

But how much will all this be worth in the employee paycheck? “The 14 euros mentioned above do not exist - the premier Enrico Letta said yesterday, interviewed by Lilli Gruber on La7 -, is a figure pulled out by those who want to denigrate our work, but it is not in the Stability law".

The Prime Minister also specified that the redistribution of the benefits deriving from the cut in the tax wedge will have to be discussed with the social partners and decided by the Chambers, but will probably be directed in favor of the weakest income brackets.
