2019 Budget Law: the Consulta examines the Pd appeal on 9 January

The Pd's appeal on the unconstitutionality of the 2019 Budget Law has reached the Consulta. With a press release released in the evening, the Constitutional Court announced that the appeal was filed on the morning of Friday 28 December, at the Court Registry. The appeal is signed by the leader of the Democratic Party in the Senate Andrea Marcucci and by 36 other senators of the Democratic Party who raise "the conflict of powers between state powers with reference to the approval process of the budget bill for 2019".

In the afternoon, the President of the Constitutional Court Giorgio Lattanzi ordered, by decree, that the admissibility of the conflict be discussed in the council chamber on 9 January 2019 and appointed the Vice President of the Court, Professor Marta Cartabia, as rapporteur for the case.
