The Turin Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the indictment of 37 Piedmont regional councilors and the governor Roberto Cota, accused of embezzlement.
The positions of the former president Mercedes Bresso and the group leader of Sel Monica Cerutti have instead been shelved, as have those of two centre-right advisers: Luca Pedrale (Forza Italia) and Fabrizio Comba (Progett'azione).
All the councilors of the League postponed. The position of Andrea Stara, the centre-left councilor who had presented a receipt for a lawn mower, has been removed. In total there were 43 suspects.
The investigation, now known as Rimborsopoli, was coordinated by prosecutors Giancarlo Avenati Bassi, Enrica Gabetta and the adjunct Andrea Beconi. The documents have been sent to the investigating judge, who will evaluate the requests of the prosecutors and set the date for the preliminary hearing.
