Hourly wages grow by 0,3% on the month and by 1,7% compared to September 2010

At the end of September, however, according to the Statistical Institute, the share of employees awaiting renewal was 33,1% of the national total (12,9% in the private sector). The wait for renewal for workers with expired contracts is, on average, 21,4 months (22,4 in the private sectors).

In September, the national collective bargaining agreements in force for the economic part correspond to 66,9% of employed employees and to 61,7% of the payroll observed.

According to Istat, the hourly wage index marks a variation of + 0,3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 1,7% compared to September 2010.

On average for the period January-September 2011, the index grew by 1,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. With reference to the main macro-sectors, wages recorded an average growth trend of 2,0% for employees in the private sector and 0,6% for those in the public administration.
