The financial crisis that is characterizing this summer has not spared the main banking institutions of the world. According to reports from the French newspaper Les Echos, citing data released by Bloomberg, the top fifty credit groups have in fact announced cuts for a total of 60 jobs before the end of the summer.
This is the heaviest scissors since the severe crisis of 2008. The heaviest intervention will be carried out by Bank of America which, due to the collapse of 47% of its stock market capitalization, would be forced to lay off around 10 thousand people after it already formalized 3.500 cuts by the end of September. Bank of America is also expected to close 750 branches in the US out of a total of 5.700 before the end of the year. Major job losses are also expected at HSBC, Barclays, Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse.
