Championship report cards: Juventus, goal binge and return to primacy

THE REPORT CARDS OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP – The black and whites are splendid as they stun Palermo and return first in the standings with Lazio who will play on Saturday at the Olimpico. Then recovery in Naples – Excellent Buffon, Lichstenier, Marchisio and Matri

twenty-two days later Juventus is even more beautiful than we left it. There was some perplexity (expressed above all by Antonio Conte) about the physical condition of the black and whites, who had been at a standstill since last October 29 (victory over Inter), but all doubts were dispelled after a few minutes with Pepe's goal. Served splendidly from the left by Chiellini, Juve's first goal immediately made things clear: hungry Juve would not even concede the crumbs. And so it was. The Sicilians tried until the end of the first half but then, after being stopped by a careful Buffon, they capitulated under the blows of Matri il Terribile. The ex from Cagliari first beat Tzorvas with a surgical right foot and then, with a high school veil, he allowed Marchisio to score the third goal. But, aside from the goalscorers, everyone played well at the Juventus Stadium: from Vucinic to Pirlo (both very close to the net), from Lichsteiner to Vidal, passing through the other players in the match (including substitutes) the bianconeri delighted the audience . This is why it is becoming increasingly difficult for Conte to hide behind superstition. The fans dream of the Scudetto and the team is proving them right. The Juventus coach knows this well, but he doesn't want to go too far yet: "I gave myself the end of the first round as a deadline to sum up, we'll see what situation we can continue and what prospects we will have after meeting all 19 teams of the championship". Conte keeps his feet on the ground, frightened by the prospect of deluding a square hungry for victories (both on the pitch and in the courts): But, despite the mask, the Juventus coach was satisfied with his team, who entered the field with the right competitive nastiness: "I I say good to my friends who immediately plugged the plug back from the national teams. I'm really happy, today the fans were the twelfth man standing close to the boys for the entire duration of the match. Congratulations also to the boys, who did really well from all points of view".
The next matches will tell us a lot about Juve's future: on Saturday evening the bianconeri will visit Lazio and three days later they will be on stage at the San Paolo against Napoli. Should 6 points arrive, even the "tough" Conte will have to abandon himself to the championship titles.
