Clouds create jobs

Clouds create jobs

The cloud" - the new way of working with the pc, where the software resides in the skies, in a distant server and everything is done online – is an important reserve of jobs. In India alone, 'cloud computing' could create two million jobs, says a study by the International Data Centre, commissioned by Microsoft.

And these two million are 15% of the jobs created by the 'cloud' worldwide, which therefore add up to over 13 million. That's not enough: the turnover linked to 'cloud computing' will already reach over one trillion dollars in 2015: an estimate based on the strong correlation between the 'cloud', innovation and entrepreneurship. The study estimates that the countries that invest in cloud infrastructure will be the ones that will experience the most growth, both in output and in employment.

That's not to say, however, that the cloud will displace the old way of working. Until the world is enveloped by ubiquitous and efficient Wi-Fi, there will always be a need to work offline with handy software.
